Week 6
I am in Colorado this weekend and spent the day in Denver at the Colorado New Play Summit. It was a wonderful day of seeing and hearing new plays. I am not a very big fan of Valentine's Day, so spending a day in the theatre where nothing had anything to do with Valentine's Day suited me just fine. Then, this evening I went to Boulder with a friend and as we walked through downtown, we passed the old courthouse and it was all lit up with red and purple for Valentine's Day. I have been here many times and love this little old courthouse. Tonight as I stood there looking at it all lit up and themed for this day of commercialized love.... I found myself smiling. The red and purple lights shooting up the white stone walls framed by the black sky made me feel festive and joyful and I suddenly wanted to go out and buy a box of chocolates for someone. I guess one of cupid's arrows was hiding in these wonderful colored lights.
